Karma? Past, Present, and Future???

I liken Karma to cause and effect, not necessarily something that happens because of a past event or future event. In other words, something bad happens to you now is not a result of something you did 10 years ago, but rather a result of whatever event just occurred....so, it's a present thing, from my perspective.
