Wardrobe update for college sopre(male)?

Title says most of it. I'm a male sopre in college looking for a few tips on updating my wardrobe. I have around $500 saved up and I have decided that is time to finally get replace my clothes from middle school (farewell). As far as my "look" goes, I'm a little more adventurous then the guy wearing sweatpants and a T everyday, but I'm definitely not a hipster. I'm really just looking for a few recommendations, I'm in desperate need of new tops (be it shirts, Ts, henley's, hoodies w/e). I don't have any brand loyalties or designer obsessions. The only thing I don't like is those abercrombie type shirts were all it says is abercrombie in mive print. That said, I still think some of their shirts with just the little moose logo are cool. Oh, a cool pair of casual sneakers wouldn't hurt. Thanks for the help, hope I was clear enough.
