Do you think I could try?

Do you think I could ever try riding a bike? I'm 25 I have a hearing loss in my left ear it's a nerve loss. I have balance problems. A doctor told my mom that bike riding is dangerous for me because not only would I not be able to balance on it I can't hear from my left ear. I can always put a mirror on the left handle of the bike. My mom is concerned about me doing that she's still listening to that doctor from years ago someone else may have a different opinion. I always wanted to ride a bike. My mom said it's better if I ride a tricycle I refuse to ride a tricycle it would be awkward they're heavy to ride. She said you survived this long without doing it. She said you can't balance on it as well as other people. As I said I really want to ride one. She can be overprotective sometimes I don't know if that has something to do with it. What if she doesn't let me try? There are deaf bikers are there some people who have balance problems and still ride a bike?
